The roles and responsibilities of health care professionals have changed to accommodate these changes and trends such as the aging population and technology. As the newly appointed inservice coordinator at Corona Valley General Hospital, you are invited to a meeting with the incoming first-year residents in the pediatric unit. The objective of the meeting is to increase understanding of the impact that quality care has on health care costs.

You are asked to address a topic from the list of emerging trends on the following Web site, and to discuss the effect of cost on quality of care delivered:
