1) Jason drives 50 mi to a train station and then continues his trip with a 210-mi train ride. The car travels 20 mph slower than the train. If total travel time is 4 hr, find the average speed of the car and the average speed of the train.
2)
Kent can cut and split a cord of firewood 4 times as fast as Bob can. Working together, they can do the job in 8 hours. How long would it take each of them to do the job alone?
