Brands and branding are integral parts of any consumer's behavior in today's culture, including your's. Pick two 2-day periods, one during the week and one on a weekend, during the course and keep a log of all branded products that you use during that week. If you have breakfast, do you eat Quaker Oatmeal or a store brand such as Schnuck's or Great Value? If you fill your car with gas, do you choose to fill with Mobil or gas from Rhodes 101?Do you wear a t-shirt with Hollister or Pink written across it or do you choose a top with nothing written on it? If you have children, do then want to go to McDonalds or are they happy with a homemade meal? Upload the completed log to the Term Project dropbox by the due date along with a 2-5 page paper based on your log analyzing the importance of brands in your lifestyle. Only include family choices if you directly influence them, i.e. you dress your children or tell your spouse what products to purchase at the store.
What influences your product choices? Are your choices hedonic or utilitarian? Are your choices influenced by others or inner directed? How do your weekday brand choices differ from your weekend brand choices?
