The question is "How does literature help us better understand ourselves, our purpose and place in the world?"

And we have to use examples from the text we read

But I just need help w/ my thesis

The thesis I originally wrote was

Individuals can interpret literature in countless ways and each interpretation provides the reader with a different perspective on how the world is perceived, wisdom from the lessons of the text, and reflections of flaws on the reader’ s society.

But my teacher literally crossed half of it out and said "it's too general"

And he told me to be more specific and stuff

and my friend who was against the question (since this was an argumentative question), said this and got a confirmation that he can move on: Literature distorts ones ability to experience reality truth and livelihood.
