This is my favorite Dilbert about testing ... They LOVE to poke fun about testing. This one mentions that management likes to take time from the testing window and use it for other things. This really creates a cramped time schedule toward the end of a project. See if you can find a Dilbert or another cartoon to explain a problem with testing. PJ

I think you summed it up with your Dilbert post, but I think that is a fun way to look at a real issue. It is hard to convince IT managers that testing it a much needed process that takes time. If you don't take the time to test now, you will more than likely be stuck fixing the issues later when it could be more costly. Testing can be considered just part of the evolution of a program. It is a necessary part in order to keep the ball rolling forward. In the article I found they talk about a risk factor being employed when you do not test. It can be explained fairly simple with risk being on the other side of cost on a teeter-totter . As one goes down, the other goes up.
