Hello Nbajaj, you had answered a question for me for my unit 1 assignment and Unit 2 assignment goes hand in hand with Unit 1. Would you be able to do this since you did Unit 1? I have attached the Unit 1 Assignment you did for me.

Using our data set from Unit 1, compose a 3-page e-mail to the head of the American Intellectual Union (AIU), which includes the following:
1. Begin your e-mail to AIU by first providing an overview of the database, that is, a story about the characteristics that may include types of variables, etc.
2. Be sure to include information about where statistics are being used in the workplace.
3. Explain the value of statistics and its contribution to the success of an organization.
4. Then, discuss the following in your e-mail:
o What is the distribution of individuals by gender?
o What is the "tenure with company" distribution by gender?
o What percentage of the survey participants are in each department?
o What is the sample mean for extrinsic value by gender?
o What is the probability that an individual will be between 16–21 years of age?
o What is the probability that an individual’s overall job satisfaction is 5.2 or lower?
o What is the probability that an individual will be a female in the human resources department?
o What is the probability that an individual will be a salaried employee whose intrinsic satisfaction value is 5 or more?
5. RESEARCH REQUIRED: Be sure to include other ways that probability is used in business specifically how it contributes to the success of an organization. Feel free to use the Business Source Premier Database in the Library as a resource to research.
The e-mail should be well written and should flow well. It should comprise the body of a report that contains no grammatical errors. The report should include proper citation in APA formatting in both the in-text and reference pages and include a title page, be double-spaced and in Times New Roman 12-point font. APA formatting is necessary to ensure academic honesty.

American Intellectual Union Job satisfaction Survey
John Dubery
Unit 1 Fundamental of Statistics?

Abstract
The objective of this paper is to present the results of statistical analysis of a survey being conducted on a sample of 25 respondents related to their job satisfaction. The purpose of this analysis is to identify current tendencies and factors concerning workforce and job motivation within the American Intellectual Union, and provide recommendations basing on this analysis.

Introduction:
In organizations surveys are conducted to determine the job satisfaction of their employees. Job satisfaction is important for all the organizations whether large or small and it helps to make the aspects of the job easy for employees. Job satisfaction is considered a strong predictor of overall individual well-being, as well as a good predictor of intentions or decisions of employees to leave a job.
The overall job satisfaction is computed by analyzing the data within these surveys using qualitative and quantitative methods. Statistics is a valuable tool for computing the survey results in an organization. The use of statistics employs numerical information concerning groups of people in this case: employees to facilitate decision making in an organization. The survey data is carefully collected, analyzed and interpreted to account for different factors when making decisions. The process of collection of data is a very well planned process that includes the design of surveys or experiments to be applied to the different situations. The statistical measurements are used to present data in standardized and meaningful format. Secondly, statistical data may be used to study the state of affairs in a certain area, improve existing trends in business and forecast future results. For the human resource department, statistical values may give the clues to employees’ performance, satisfaction and indicate the fulfillment of organization’s goals and mission. The most important issues for statistical analysis is job satisfaction; this factor is related with many other factors such as workplace productivity, motivation, gender ,position, leave policies and overall company’s efficiency. The survey has been conducted for the American Intellectual Unions (AIU) for measuring the job satisfaction and factors influencing it. The survey results will allow organizations to develop a strategy for increasing job satisfaction among certain groups of employees and to implement positive changes in workforce dynamics and the data for the statistical analysis is collected by conducting surveys.
Selection of Data Variables:
For examining the data collected through survey the employee gender has been chosen as the qualitative variable and the intrinsic job satisfaction as the quantitative variable. These two specific variables have been chosen for analysis because for salary paid employee or an hourly paid employee the internal job satisfaction is very important. The job satisfaction of an employee can be best understood by employee gender which will help to provide better work environment to the employees.
Qualitative and Quantitative Variables
Quantitative data is data that can be added up to come up with a numerical measure. Intrinsic job satisfaction is used for the Quantitative data analysis. Qualitative data are non-numerical information such as trying to determine the number of employees by gender. Gender of employees is used for the Qualitative data analysis. The result of both the Qualitative and Quantitative data cannot be added.
Description of methods
Standard procedures of using central tendency measures were used for analyzing the data set. For Quantitative variables mean was selected as the measure of central tendency, and for Qualitative variables mode was used as the measure of central tendency.
A sample of 25 respondents was collected for analyzing the job satisfaction level of employees.
Qualitative Variables: Gender Distribution
Gender	Age	Intrinsic Factors
1	1	6
2	2	4.6
1	2	5.6
2	1	5.1
1	2	2.5
1	3	5.1 KEY TO SURVEY
1	1	4
2	2	5.5 Qualitative Variable
1	2	5.1
2	1	3 Gender
2	1	5.6 1	Male
2	3	7 2	Female
1	2	5 Age
1	2	6 1	16 – 21
2	1	3.5 2	22 – 49

2	3	6.6 Quantitative Variable
2	1	4.6
2	1	4 INTRINSIC JOB SATISFACTION (Scale 1-7)
2	1	5.6 1= Least Satisfied
2	2	5 7= Most Satisfied

Mean	NA
Median	2	Female
Mode	2	Female
Variance	1.020833333
Standard Deviation	1.010362971

The gender distribution is examined using qualitative method as this may influence job satisfaction. Many times the average, median, and mode are not appropriate for qualitative data but since gender has been coded as 1 or 2, so they are meaningful. The median and mode values of 2 mean that over 50 % of the sample is female. The average gives a more precise estimate of the gender proportions. The standard deviation and variance are also not always meaningful for qualitative data, but with this coding scheme they do have meaning. The standard deviation in this case is 1.01, and the variance is 1.02. The chart below gives a visual representation of the gender distribution.

Quantitative Data: Intrinsic Job Satisfaction
Mean	5.02
Median	5.1
Mode	5.1
        Variance	1.155833
Standard Deviation	1.075097

The intrinsic job satisfaction was analyzed as this is an important aspect of overall job satisfaction. The mean, median, and mode were calculated to be 5.02, 5.1, and 5.1, respectively. These individual statistics summarize the data and compress them into a single number that gives us a broad idea of the sample ratings. The ratings scale for the factor varies from 1 to 7. The standard deviation is 1.07 and the variance is 1.15, giving a clear idea of the dispersion in the ratings. The graph below shows the 4 people with low ratings that bring the average rating down below the median and mode and increase the standard deviation and variance.

Please find below Ms Excel sheet with complete details

Conclusion:
The survey was conducted and the results were portrayed using the Graphs which gives a clear representation of the data collected during survey. The visual representation helps to clearly define the trend seen in the data collected. One of the real advantages of using visual representations of data is that a maximum of information can be conveyed in a minimal amount of space. It is possible to include too much data and create a graph that overwhelms the reader by trying to answer several questions at once.
Variance and standard deviation are both describe how much variation or diversity there is in a distribution. Both the variance and standard deviation increase or decrease based on how closely the data values cluster around the mean.
