DETAILED DESCRIPTION |
You will critically analyze the sustainability report of a company.
The first step is to find a company publishing a sustainability report; it is easier if you choose a big company (Coca Cola, Wal-Mart, Shell, McDonalds…)
Use the following questions as a guideline:
How is sustainability defined in this report? How is it different from CSR?
Is there a specific sustainable strategy? Policy?
When, how and why was it developed?
In which specific fields? Energy? Transportation? Reduction of waste?
Does it concern the entire company or some specific factories/countries?
What are the results? How are they measured?
Are there differences from one year to another? Compare 2 reports from the same company.
Try to find other external sources giving information about the company (Newspapers, NGO reports…)
Use the information and your own assessment to draw conclusion about the level of sustainability of the company.
