Definition of Critical Thinking

The first reading contained the following definition of critical thinking:

According to Critical Thinking as Defined by the National Council for Excellence in Critical Thinking (http://www.criticalthinking.org/pages/defining-critical-thinking/766), “Critical thinking is the intellectually disciplined process of actively and skillfully conceptualizing, applying, analyzing, synthesizing and/or evaluating information gathered from, or generated by, observation, experience, reflection, reasoning or communication, as a guide to belief and action” (Critical Thinking.org).

This definition uses words with which you may be unfamiliar.

First, write the definitions for the following words:

• Conceptualizing
• Analyzing
• Synthesizing

Second, re-write the definition of critical thinking in your own words, and give an example of a time when you applied this type of thinking in your own life. You should write approximately one paragraph per term  and no more than 2 pages in APA format.
