Each student will research two sport governing bodies. This could be anything from the NCAA to FIFA to the IOC to NAIA, etc. You will find basic organizational information for each (e.g. mission statement, organizational structure, responsibilities and duties, management objectives, constitution, etc.), and then compare and contrast the two organizations in each area.  Your textbook will not necessarily help you with this assignment so you will have to mostly use other references to support your work and research and to help you evaluate the two organizations. I STRONGLY STRONGLY SUGGEST using our online library and databases such as Sportdiscus, SBRNet, Ebscohost, etc. Of course, you will have to visit the website of the governing bodies to find their mission statement, organizational structure, responsibilities and duties, management objectives, constitution, etc.

Assignment Requirements:
  • Minimum 2-4 pages in length (This shouldn't be a problem as sharing each organizations information will make up for a large majority of the report);
  • In addition to the required number of pages for the assignment, you must also include a reference page (bibliography), written in APA style and a title page;
  • Typewritten in double-spaced format with a readable style and font and submitted inside the electronic classroom. Arial 11 or 12-point font or Times New Roman styles;
  • Page margins Top, Bottom, Left Side and Right Side = 1 inch, with reasonable accommodation being made for special situations.
