Please answer these two questions, each for 2.5 pages, double margin.

1.Gentrification has been a common theme that we have discussed in our investigation of Boston’s neighborhoods.  Compare and contrast the issue of gentrification across the neighborhoods we have explored. What is gentrification and what is at stake? What are the potential positives and negatives, for whom (e.g. stakeholders)? 

Please use the Chinatown of Boston as an example, you can make up some interviews and opinions from people from Chinatown, such as retail shop owners and residences.

2.Boston is a city of constant change with significant potential to do “political work”. What do you see as the most significant problems facing our society, and how can Boston do political work to help remedy this? Draw on examples from readings of of both positive change and problematic underlying issues.
