1. In your opinion, is the American dream of social mobility a myth? Why or why not? Defend your answer.

2. Is social inequality an inescapable part of social life in America? Is it a universal quality? Could redistribution of wealth eradicate some of the problems?

3. The amount of social mobility in the United States lies directly with what an individual's definition of happiness is. If they are unhappy in their career, how do they change it? More education, more money? Quitting and becoming your own boss? (sharlene)

4. Things do seem to be getting worse with the country's current economic state, and with employers laying off workers.  When it comes to the homeless, are certain demographics (races, genders or ages) harder hit by this than others? Which groups seem to be the most devastated?
