Project Requirements

o    Analyze the social determiners of health for the region. Be sure to include the following in your discussion:
    Levels of wealth or poverty.
    Educational attainment and availability of schools.
    Cultural beliefs and how they might impact women's rights and access to education for girls.
    Access to public health.
    Quality of housing and sewage disposal.
    Access to food and shelter.
o    Describe how the social determiners of the region affect the public health issue that is the focus of your policy proposal.
•    International Impacts
o    Note: Draw content from your Region and Social Determiners assignment (SEE ATTACHED)  to complete this section.
o    Describe any physical, psychological, or environmental factors crossing international boundaries that impact public health practice in your region.
o    Discuss how these factors impact your selected issue specifically.
•    Ethical Issues
o    Note: Draw content from your Ethical Concerns and Potential Barriers assignment (SEE ATTACHED)  to complete this section.
o    Evaluate the ethical considerations that must be taken into account when dealing with international public health settings. Be sure to include a discussion regarding how the considerations are different from a U.S.-only perspective.
o    Identify resources you could leverage to ensure legally and ethically defensible policy decisions in an international context.
•    Policy Development Proposal
o    Note: Draw content from your Public Health Policy Development assignment and Public Health Agencies assignment (SEE ATTACHED)  to complete this section.
o    Describe a global vision—one that integrates both domestic and international agencies and perspectives—for addressing the public health issue.
o    Describe how you would go about the planning and implementation of the policy. Be sure to incorporate:
    How you would leverage global, national, and local public health resources by specifying what contribution you would hope each agency would make.
    How you would build support for and collaborate with domestic and international agencies to address your public health issue.
    How you would incorporate the target community's individual and cultural belief systems as well as organize and empower the community to be involved in the policy-making decisions.
    How you could leverage any other resources, domestic or international, that support continuous development of public health systems.
o    Briefly describe your plan for evaluating and revising at a future date.


•    Conclusion
o    In your conclusions, be sure to emphasize the ways in which you feel strategies and policies to address public health issues are sound and potentially effective as well as the ways in which you feel they might need to be changed to become more effective.

•    Number of resources: Minimum of 25 resources.
