So far we have discussed different reading strategies and annotation as well as how to summarize or paraphrase. 

Steps to complete this exercise:

1. Pick one of the narratives assigned so far.
2. Re-read the narrative using the reading and annotation strategies we discussed in class. Even if you already have a lot of notes, it is still a good idea to re-read the narrative before writing about it.
3. Using the summarizing techniques we discussed in class, you will be writing your own summary of the narrative you chose. 
4. The exercise must be a maximum of 250 words or 1 page. Summaries are usually brief and this will help you stick to the main points.
5. You must have a unique title to your summary. Do not title it Summary or the title of what you are summarizing.
6. Your page should be in MLA format with the proper headings, margins, etc.
7. Post your exercise to your Weebly Progression 1 page by 2 pm on September 2nd. We will be discussing how to upload assignments.
