Should The United States Supreme Court should be compelled to hear cases deemed necessary by the United States Congress

Currently, in the United States, the Supreme Court has absolute discretion over which cases it chooses to hear. In many other countries, especially in western Europe and Japan, there are mechanisms that mandatorily require their respective Supreme Courts to hear cases if the legislative body has voted that the matter is to be heard by the Supreme Court. In other words, the law-makers can force a court to hear a matter. This is, of course, completely lacking in the United States (although the constitution does set forth matters that the federal court system should hear).
