Write a 2-3-page paper MLA formatted in which you analyze:  

George Orwell, “Shooting an Elephant” (short story)

The task is to analyze the *author’s intent* in the text. There will be more than one possible intent. In the short essay, identify the intent you want to focus on. The thesis will list this intent. Through the rest of the paper, use the analytical abilities to determine how that intent is achieved. Use specific examples from the work itself or from history (if applicable) to do so.
