The role of values in therapies has been debated extensively in this case. The case argues that values of both the client and the therapist my affect the outcomes of therapies. The case results that argue that in most cases the therapist and the clients present different sexual values and the therapist incline to concerns on infidelity and sexual practices. In contrary, a society is built on a platform of different cultures and thus faiths that instill different values in individuals. Therapy should however not be affected by sexual values because they dictate nothing in the outcomes. The sexual values of the therapist should not change the sexual values of the client (Reiss ,2014).

The case argues that that male religious therapist viewed the clients as sex addicted than other raters did. This is not what region entails in matters sexuality but advocated that marriage should be for the married (Reiss, 2014). In addition, there is no instrument for gauging sexual addictiveness among individuals. The case is therefore misleading to assert that the highly religious men perceive others as sexually addicted. In nutshell, there are highly religious individuals who engage in sex than the less religious.

The point that gay and lesbian individuals mostly seek therapies at significant numbers than the general population is not right. The reason is because only individuals with problems go for therapies. Gay and lesbians have no bigger affinity and demand for therapies than the other population. Gays and lesbians are people who are susceptible to diseases like any other population and all stand equal chance to get infected. The case therefore sounds to incline to gays and lesbians under baseless platform.

The case suggests that issues on sexual values and therapy have been neglected. Evidently this area of study has been extensively being taught even schools although the case asserts there has been a difficult in training these issues. Training has been done verbally in classes and non-verbally through the media and training workshops in health facilities. It is therefore clearly that this has been a central issue in training. The fact that in the process of therapies, therapist has in many cases involved in unethical sex has sensitized the issue.

The case explains that sex is viewed as for the youths and not the aged. This is not right because the youths seek for life partners and do not look for sex for pleasure like the aged do. The aged are up for prostitution than the youths because they seek pleasure for their conflicting couples. Youths in most cases engage in one spouse who may later be the wife (Wright, 2015).  It is tensions in families that lead the aged go out to look for happiness that cannot be attained in their respective families. The aged are more involved in sex than the youths who even lack resources and time in engaging in sex.

Premarital sex has increased dramatically over years is a mere lie from the case. Premarital sex is sex before marriage which is condemned by the religion. Premarital sex is decreasing due to religion sensitization on the evil behind it. Many individuals have chosen to abstain from sex due to STDs and AIDS that are perceived to be killer diseases. Many people fear to engage in sex to avoid contaminating the deadly diseases (Wright, 2015).

Am struck by the fact sexual values of the therapist and client will always differ depending on different backgrounds. As the case implicates that this will even influence the therapy in general. The therapist should remain neutral and accept different sexual values attached to different individuals.
