. “Clean water technologies” comprise of a range of technologies that enable faster and more energy efficient treatment of fresh water and waste water, and desalination of brackish and sea water.  We need sustainable and diverse water sources useful for domestic, agricultural, and industrial purposes.  These technologies include advances in existing technologies and a range of material substitutions and advances in other separation and purification technologies.  The demand for sustainable clean water supplies will only be met if both large and small scale systems can overcome cost constraints – both in terms of energy requirements and infrastructure costs.    What water purification technologies might be able to meet our future demands? (NIC)
