The second shift refers to the unpaid housework such as cooking, cleaning, washing and home-repair among others, that must be done at home after a full day's paid labor is over. Here, you will analyze the second shift work, by using a technique called interviews (refer to Chapter 2 ) and find out how a working parent walks the tightrope of work- home balance. Refer to the guidelines on page 259 of your text book in carrying out this activity. After the experiment ask yourself these three questions:
1. Is there a patterned division of labor at home ?
2. How are the various tasks divided ?
3. Who does most of the daily chores ?
Plan your response keeping in mind some pointers such as; How does this impact relations in marriage and live- in equations? Is it true that one person ends up doing most of the work ? What solutions do you recommend to this problem? The word limit is between 300-600 words. See rubric And Pg.259 Down Below
