SCIE-210 DB
For our Unit 2 DB we will consider where our food comes from. Last week we talked about sustainability and saw that on Easter Island, the people had to depend only on the food they could grow or harvest from the island itself or the surrounding waters. Today, we get food from all over the world. Consider how hard it would be for me in Connecticut to have food all winter long if we did not trade food from state to state or country to country. Some of you in California or Florida may have a much stronger food supply -- though even in climates that can grow many different types of foods, farmers grow lots of just one thing -- like oranges or garlic. They do this so they can trade the food and make money!
Use these tips to make quick work of this project!
Part 2: If you are wondering what food to choose from your kitchen, this is a great list of choices since each of these comes from very far away, and often there is no US grown substitute.
