After watching the video -- "The Long Search: Land of the Disappearing Buddha" -- compare the formality of Zen practices to the other forms of Buddhism addressed in the video (especially "Pure Land").  What is important about the formal, ritualistic practices that are part of the Zen tradition?  How might practitioners of Zen understand and value other schools of Buddhist thought in Japan (or in other parts of the Mahayana world)?
