Assignment 4, Part 1: Research Project Draft Submission

Due Week 8 and worth 200 points

In Week 2, you submitted your Topic Selection and Proposal. Throughout the length of the course, you have read about your topic, increased your knowledge about your topic, and gathered credible information while conducting research on your topic. Now, you get to consolidate all of your research and assignments into one (1) deliverable final Research Project.

Write a four to six (4-6) page paper in which you:

1. Give a brief explanation of your chosen topical area.
2. Based on your chosen topic, define the problems and challenges that exist in crime and criminology. Explain the historical issues that have contributed to the problems and challenges.
3. Address the internal and external stakeholders and how they contribute to both the problems and the solutions in crime and criminology.
4. Discuss the data and information that you have collected while conducting research on your topic. Discuss how the data relates to the problems and challenges in crime and criminology.
5. Develop a solution that addresses the problems and challenges in crime and criminology, based on your research.
6. Use at least six (6) scholarly sources in this assignment. Note: Wikipedia, Ask.com, Answers.com, Freedictionary.com, and other open source Websites do not qualify as scholarly.

1. Introduction

The paper will begin with the introduction of the meaning of juvenile delinquency in a girl. The meaning of the terms will be given an extensive study on the same. There is a need to give recent studies and statistics on the juvenile delinquency in girls. A comparison of the delinquency in girls and boys will be introduced if it exists in (Flannery, 2004).

2. Cause of Delinquency in girls

Biological and individual factors

This paper will study the causes of juvenile delinquency starting off with biological factors then individual factors. In individual factors, we will, the paper will study how the different biological status affects the state of the girl child. Major attention will be on the theoretical understanding of the changes that come with an adolescent. Since some issues come in the life of the girl in the process of growth, they may tend to behave negatively. Individual factors will be dsicusi0on about each girl’s physiological factors.

Stressors, Trauma and Mental Trauma

Delinquency girls are caused majorly by the inability of the body to respond to the stresses.  The paper will discuss the effect this has on the girl child. Focusing the difference of response, the analysis of the stressors will be given. Further, the impact of the mental trauma about juvenile delinquency in a girl.

Early Onset of puberty

 The paper will discuss the mental impact of the early maturing children about delinquency.  Given the statistics that exists, the paper will give more elaboration on the risk behaviors the children who have early puberty stages. Therefore, in this topic, early maturity and onset of puberty will be explained about delinquency.

3. Role of Religious activities in delinquency in girls

Given the fact that the religious bodies have long standing effects on delinquency in girls (Feld, 2009). The topic will give the role of schools, churches, and other religious bodies. Further clarifications on the impact the attachment has on the girl and delinquency will be expounded. It is paramount also to know that the school level grades, size of the student enrollment, class size, racial ND ethnic competition and school location also contribute to delinquency in girls and, therefore, the paper will find a way to solve this.

4. The impact of Juvenile Delinquency in girls

After the discussion has been well elaborated on juvenile delinquency, the paper will summarize the content by giving the summary of all things by analyzing the impact the arrests on the girl child.  The effect of this is focused on the psychological and physiological impact and measures to curb the effect as in (Gilligan, 1982).

5. Justice System

In this part of the discussion, it is going to discuss the justice before and after the revision using (Gilligan, 1982).Further, there is going to be an elaborative discussion on how to decentralize and institutionalize the justice system for the girl child. Initially, the boy child had their cases handled by different delinquency departments while the girl delinquency was done by different. In this part of the discussion, there is going to be given a history of how the justice for the girl has been all along.

6. Programming and Policy

In this part of the literature, the paper will expound on the various measures that are meant to prevent delinquency in girls. In this explanation, the paper will be able to explain factors like; programs to discuss the girls mistreatment, programs to ensure that mental depression is well handled, how to supervise and monitor girls through a causal link of the same with support from (Gilligan, 1982).Further programs to be discussed are; positive school involvement and interdisciplinary models for the behaviors that cause delinquency in girls.

Conclusion

In the conclusion of the study, an elaborative summary of the whole work done will be put down. The paper will further give a parting shot statement on the way forward on the matters of girl’s delinquency. Lastly, the paper will give the final sentiments on how to handle the issue of the girls and delinquency.
