In order to do this assignment. You must have Revit 2015 & NavisWorks 2015

a.   4d Simulation

                                                               i.      Using Navisworks Manage and your Architectural Model from above complete a 4d simulation of your model. Use the CPM schedule from Assignment 4 for this exercise. At a minimum you must simulate the following elements:

a.     Exterior walls

b.     Interior walls

c.     Floors

d.     Ceilings

e.     Roofs

f.        Doors

g.     Windows

ii.      Submit the final simulation as a compressed AVI file.

iii.      In addition, save and submit the simulation as an NWD file.

iv.      Submit both the AVI and the NWD files.

b.   Quantity Takeoff / Cost Estimating in Revit and Navisworks

                                                               i.      Using Revit Architecture and your Architectural Model from above, Perform a Revit Quantity Takeoff using an “Assemblies” method for the following elements from Part 1 above:

a.     Exterior walls

b.     Floors

c.     Ceilings

ii.      In addition, Perform a Revit Quantity Takeoff using a “Materials” method for the following elements from Part 1 above:

a.     Interior walls

b.     Roof

c.     Structural Steel

iii.      Using Navisworks and your Architectural Model from above, Perform a QTO for Exterior Walls per Assignment 5, including the Resources identified in Assignment 5.

iv.      In addition, pick at least one other major component of your model to perform a QTO in Navisworks. You must include at least 3 Resources with this component.

                                                            v.      Your Revit QTO output should be in the form of a useful “summary” quantity takeoff that could be used for estimating the project (for example you should be using Revit to automatically calculate subtotals of various Assembly types – Do NOT submit quantity takeoffs in a format that displays a separate line item for every single object/family)

vi.      Your final quantities in both software packages must be expressed in actual Units that would be used for cost estimating. For example, ceilings must be expressed in SF. This may require you to add formulas within your QTO.

vii.      If you choose this option, then your final Revit QTO output will be in the form of Revit Schedules. Therefore land these schedules on sheets and include them in your Final DWF file with Part 1. Your Navisworks QTO output will be in the form of an Excel File. In addition, submit your NWD file.
