The teacher should teach their procedures at the beginning of school. The teacher wants the student to feel comfortable right away with the procedures in the classroom. The quicker children master procedures ensure their chance for success. There may be times the teacher may have to reflect on the things they have learned. The educator helps student through understanding or skills. The teacher may show the student how a procedure is done through modeling. The student practice what they have been taught, modeled by doing what they have seen and been shown in the classroom. Procedures can help student with following basic rules. Procedures can help children prepare for testing, through learning to use different direction. Learning how to follow procedures and simple direction helps child to learn about structure. In preschool many children that have not went to school or childcare centers may have difficulty with thing being structured.
