Building a positive relationship with families is very important. The teacher needs the parents to help teach the students. The teacher must prepare an open-door policy to make the family feel comfortable. The teacher really needs to communicate with the family, by keeping the family informed about what is going on in the classroom. As an educator, I will do weekly newsletters and daily notes when needed. Always making sure to reply to parents notes as soon as possible. I will offer an open-door policy, where parent can feel free to come in and visit. The teacher needs to offer opportunity for children to have families come into the classroom as secret readers, helping with special projects, fieldtrips, preparing for book fairs, STEM projects and other exciting things that are going on in my school. I would love to have parents be involve in the classroom some way every day. I do feel if the parents feel good about their child’s education the students will also feel good about learning.
