The principle of an effective literacy that I find to be challenging is incorporating a balance approach in the classroom which is differentiating instruction. The teacher needs to make sure to know the students in order to do so because each of them will have a different form of understanding. Being with the classroom size that teachers have today it makes more difficult to accommodate the learner. But it does not mean it cannot be accomplished it just requires that the educator takes the time to assess and applicate the student. In introducing the reading in several forms for them to understand the lecture can be done, but it has to meet the individuality of the student. For instance, having a student work in a group may assist or maybe just one on one with a reading buddy can work best, but the point is to discover what works for the learner. However, in the beginning of teaching instruction is where I find it challenging because the teacher is learning to how to teach and implement in the classroom.
