There are a few different ways to make a literacy rich classroom.  The first being my goals would be to have books for the classrooms, and challenges to the students, which would challenge them to read certain stories.  Also anchor charts would be a major assignment in my classroom and it would be a fun assignment that the students and the teacher can work on together.  Literacy work stations could also be implemented if there are enough resources, and the school provides an aide.  One study claimed the following about literacy rich environments this study said, “A literacy-rich environment not only supports the standards set by the Common Core, but also provides a setting that encourages and supports speaking, listening, reading, and writing in a variety of authentic ways – through print & digital media” Gambrell, L.B. Malloy, J.A., & Mazzoni, S.A.( 2007).  Some of the literature that would be included are as follows Tales of a Fourth Grade Nothing by Judy Blume, Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone, and Bunnicula by James Howe, each one of these stories connects to common core, and they would be engaging to the fourth grade students, and my goal would be to make a classroom that engages the students.
