Dear Principal of Lake Eola Charter,
I am excited to apply for your position as Kindergarten teacher for the upcoming 2017/2018 school year which was advertised on indeed.com. It would be a joy to work for your school and be part of the student’s education journey as well as a team member for your school. With my background working in a charter school for the last 3 years I am certain I would be a great fit for you.
I started working as a substitute teacher in 2014 for Four Corners Charter School. With their support and guidance I worked in every grade. However I spent a majority of my time in Kindergarten and 1st grade. During the last three years I have gained more experience and knowledge that have only helped me succeed in my journey of becoming certified as a teacher.
As a permanent substitute teacher I had a class of my own for 2 years. In that class I had 25 students that I worked with on differentiated instruction. I helped them grow and becoming successful in their goals. I learned how to master lesson plans, personal learning strategies and approaches and how to support ELL and ESOL learners.
I graduate this summer with my BA in Education and specialization in English language learners. I would love an opportunity to discuss this job and my qualifications in more depth at your earliest convenience.
With warmest regards,
Kortney L Dettloff

Jennifer
I am interested in this kindergarten/lower elementary teaching position because it is my goal to work for an elementary school in my area. I have been working with ages 5 to 12 years old for the last decade, but have been working with children of all ages for the past 16 years. I have found that I enjoy working with elementary students the most. I enjoy watching them absorb new information and then using it in their environment. For me, it is very satisfying to see the things that I taught them through experiences in my lessons and in my classroom environment, be used in real life situations after. Given my experience with elementary school ages, I feel that I can make a positive contribution to your school.
As a teacher of a before and after school program, I hold a teacher’s permit and an AA in General Education. I am currently working toward my BA in Educational Studies. I regularly challenge my students in engaging and inspiring lessons and activities that encourage them to look for deeper meaning by critically thinking about the information being presented to them. I practice oral, written, and interpersonal skills daily through instruction, written lesson plans, and communication with parents and co-workers daily. As I work with a large age group, I am always faced with critical thinking of my own to find lessons and activities that differentiate between their different needs. I thoroughly enjoy what I do and plan for this to be a life-long journey and plan to inspire others all throughout it.
