This essay must have a ‘works cited’ page, and be in MLA format. You must use at least one quote from at least one source.

1)    Read  ‘The Price of Free Speech?” Is free speech at stake when hate codes are implemented, or are hate codes necessary for the greater good?

2)    Explore the issue of poverty and race in America. Is poverty directly related to race? Prove yes or no on this issue.

3)    Write a proposal about something that needs to happen, and how you would make it happen.

4)    Choose your own topic, take a position, and prove your argument.

Specifics:

1) Use a standard 10 or 12 font on the final draft.

2) Double space- Points will be taken off for single spacing.

3) Essay must be at least 1 1/2 page long.

4) Indent for paragraphs, do not add an extra space

5) Header on the first Page: Your Name,  Date, English 1301, Ms. Decker

6) Number any other pages

7) Use at least 1 quote, and cite it in MLA format

8) Include a works cited page
