4-pages in including reference page    Research Paper.. Do you remember the topic

Your final draft must be no less than 4 pages, not including the reference page. It must be longer and more refined than your Unit 3 Individual Project. This paper must follow APA style format, and include in-text citations and a reference page. Be sure to proofread your final paper and run the spell and grammar checkers before submitting.

Research Question

This statement or question that presents the problem or issue you intend to research and should be clear and concise. This should represent your Research Question (in shorthand according to Research Design and Methods- the research question is noted as: RQ (see example here)

RQ: What are the factors associated with recidivism?

Hypothesis

This is a statement of prediction regarding the results of the problem or issue. Prediction of the relationship between the variables.  For example if I were using the RQ from above (RQ: What are the factors associated with recidivism?) My Hypothesis would be……..(and of course this is based on what I have read in the literature)

HR: Socio-economic Factors predict recidivism in ex offenders.

Briefly identify your working solution to the problem. How might your working solution solve the problem? Be sure to note here that your working solution will evolve through continued research and analysis.

Literature Review

Here you expand on each of your sources but you organize your paper now into the various sections (or “sub sections” of the literature.  Build upon the summaries you’ve provided but now you categorize and organize the materials based on “subject matter”.  So for example – if your research question is RQ: What are the factors associated with recidivism? Your first level two heading would be:

Recidivism Factors Associated with Recidivism

Here again you would discuss and expand upon the terms and definitions of the concept (ie. What are these factors associated with recidivism? How are they defined?).  You would also want to discuss how these factors relate or are associated with or help to predict recidivism (utilizing the resources and empirical literature that you have already collected and summarized).

(This section represents the information and content that you have already developed from IP # 1)

Measurements

 (This section represents the information and content that you have already developed from IP # 1)

Conclusion

Here you would discuss the terms and definitions of the concept (ie. What is

recidivism? How is defined?).  You would also want to discuss the rate and statistics associated with recidivism (utilizing the resources and empirical literature that you have already collected and summarized).
