REPORT PROPOSAL MEMORANDUM

Report Proposal Memo

This memo is your request for approval of the problem you have selected for your final report.  Your memo should include the answers to the following questions (not necessarily in the same order):

1. What do you plan investigate? (Be as specific as possible.)
2. Who will your hypothetical readers be?
3. What problem or question will your information enable readers to solve or answer?
4. What problems will you have gathering the material?  Are you reasonably sure you can find the necessary information in the time available for the report?
5. What information will you give your readers? What aspects of the material will you discuss in depth? In general? What might you ignore? What criteria will you use to make those decisions?

            In a concluding paragraph, ask for approval of your topic.
