hi

i have posted questions with answers plesae praphrase answers to look like diffrent

1.  Does Hershey use process manufacturing or the assembly process?  Justify your answer.

Hershey uses process manufacturing which means physically or chemically changes materials.  The assembly process is putting together component such as a computer or a car.  Hershey does not use this process when making their product however the assembly process is used when the product is labeled and packaged.

Is the production of Hershey’s chocolate an intermittent or continuous production process? Justify your answer.

A continuous process is a long production process that turns out goods over time.  An intermittent process is a short production process and uses different machines to make different products.   The production of Hershey’s chocolate is a continuous process because it is a long production process from start to finish.

2.  What location factors might go into the selection of a manufacturing site for Hershey’s chocolate?

Our textbook lists several factors that go into the selection of a manufacturing site.  Those factors include; labor costs, availability of resources (including labor) access to transportation, proximity to suppliers, proximity to customers, crime rates, quality of life for employees, cost of living, and the need to train or retrain the local workforce.

In my opinion it would be wise for any company to consider all of the above factors.  I think that one of the most important factors to consider is availability of resources.  The video mentioned that the location of Hershey factory is in close proximity to dairy farms because milk is a key ingredient in the product.  Having the dairy farms so close to the factory helps reduces the cost of shipping the milk.
