You only need to read from the beginning of the essay through page 126! If you enjoy the article you're welcome to continue of course. But the questions will only pertain to the first 7 pages.

1. Tell me about the author. Which branch of Buddhism is he representing? Where is he from?

2. What does he say is the purpose of "comparative theology"? Does he think it can be done without an openness to changing one's own self-understanding?

3. In the section entitled "Buddhist Theology of Religions", is the author agreeing or disagreeing with Prothero's version of the mountain metaphor? Explain why.

4. At the end of your section, the author offers five areas of Christian theology that are sources of rich reflection for him. Choose one of them and do your best to explain what he's saying.
