In a 350-400 word response, address the following questions using direct quotes/references to lines in the appropriate chapters and analysis of how you can apply these ideas to you and your writing: 

          1)      What were some of the key ideas that you took from these three chapters? How can you apply them in your future writing assignments or this class?

           2)      In chapter six, what are some ways that Graff and Birkenstein recommend you plant a naysayer in your text? How can you do so without a mocking tone? 

           3)      In chapter seven, what are some ways Graff and Birkenstein advise you to address the “so what?” question?

           4)      In chapter eight, what do Graff and Birkenstein say about the relationship between transitions and repetition? How can you transition well?
