Read Chapters 1,2, and 3 of the Argument Today text concerning starting an argument, generative arguments, and persuasive arguments. The reading offers many ideas of strategies that you can use to roll out an argument as well as models and theories that can help you choose the most logical way to state your points. Given that we are just getting started in the course and the reading is fairly complex, we will use this discussion board as a forum to ask questions about the reading. You should post at least two questions about passages or topics that you did not understand and use page numbers to indicate exactly where the passage was in the text. We can assume that we are all using the first edition of the text but please keep in mind that pagination will vary slightly in subsequent editions. Your questions should be posted by Wednesday at 11:59 PM.
