1.)   Describe the differences between import-substitution industrialization (ISI) with export-oriented industrialization (EOI) as development strategies for less developed countries (LDCs).  What impacts (positive or negative) have either of these development strategies of LDCs had on the lives of people here in the United States?

Scholarly debate on the “new international division of labor” (NIDL) has focused on whether it is actually new or whether it’s simply a continuation of previously established global trends.  Take a position on whether the new international division of labor really is new and use logical arguments and evidence to support your position.  (NIDL was covered in lecture on 9/28, and an article on NIDL is posted on BlackBoard.)
