questions?!

Below you will find the question for the first module discussion.  The question is not based on any lecture or reading, rather it is designed to get you comfortable debating with your classmates.  You are responsible for three entries.  The posts should be substantial, not just "I agree," or "Yes or no."  These will garner you no points.  I encourage you to use outside resources, but make sure you cite them in your entries.  The key with discussion questions is to substantiate your opinions with facts.  Don't just tell me who you think the most important figure is, but why he/she earns that title.  Remember you must make three entries.  Good luck!!

2-Below you will find the question for the second discussion.  You are responsible for three entries.  The posts should be substantial (ie: more than one sentence).  Use outside resources to substantiate your assertions.  Also, this is a particularly sensitive question.  I ask you to adopt a scholarly perspective, and treat other peoples' positions with the respect and consideration which is necessary to have civil, academic discourse.

Can we rely on the Bible for historical facts?  For that matter, what about the Qu'ran, and other ancient texts?  How useful are they?
