 Read the associated chapters.
 Research the at least three (3) relevant, credible journal articles and two (2) relevant, credible
Websites about model facilities and ways to improve correctional facilities.
 
Write a three to four (3-4) page paper in which you:
1. Make revisions to Assignment 1 based on your professor’s feedback.
2. Provide an introduction to your position paper with a clear thesis statement that provides an
overview of the paper.
3. Describe at least one (1) major target population (i.e., men, women, those from a specific race /
ethnic group, aging inmates, mentally challenged) that have special needs and anayze two (2)
specific challenges for addressing those needs in corrections.
4. Analyze three (3) key issues in corrections for the idenitifed target population. The issues may be
selected from:
a. effective community corrections programs
b. education programs
c. physical and mental health care
d. faith-based programs
e. probation and parole
f. reentry strategies
5. Recommend a plan with at least three (3) improvements for the target population in the areas
identified.
6. Support your views with at least three (3) relevant and credible references, documented
according to APA.
