The Affordable Health Care Act is aimed to reduce the numbers of uninsured in United States. Andrews (2012) states that the Affordable Health Care Act “may be unaffordable for millions of Americans.” According to Andrews (2012) “Under rules proposed by the service, some working-class families would be unable to afford family coverage offered by their employers, and yet they would not qualify for subsidies provided by the law.”

My own family and millions of others fall under this provision. I work part time for number of different Universities and my husband is a full time student. Our income level is too high to qualify for subsidy, yet neither of my employers offers insurance to part time employees, nor can we afford purchasing the private one. Private insurance offers me very high deductible and high monthly premium insurance with limited coverage, so economically it is more feasible for many families like mine to pay for our own medical care out of pocket and pay the tax penalty then purchase the privet insurance.  How do you think the Affordable Care Act  affects families like mine in 2014 and in your opinion, will the reduction of uninsured in US be significant enough to justify the cost?
