INSTRUCTIONS TO CANDIDATES:-
You are required to complete the followingtwo tasks;
Task 1- Essay Format- 2000 words (50%)
Choose any onebusiness organisation of your choice and discuss how it has been affected by the forces of both globalisation of markets and production.
(Sectors could include; Oil, Agriculture, mining, tourism, banking or financial services, information technology etc.).
Task 2- Report Format-2000 words (50%)
Select one organisation of your choice and discuss the different challenges managers must deal with in the course of achieving their organisational goals and objectives.
Your discussion should include an evaluation of the following areas;
· Managing change
· Managing resources
· Managing strategically
· Managing entrepreneurially
You should also include in your report five recommendations on how managerial response can be enhanced.
Description of Assessment Requirements:-
- Assignments will be graded on the basis of research done, analysis of the facts collated, stand taken and the justification of the stand.
- All research must be referenced using the APA style of referencing both in-text and a Reference and Bibliography list attached. Improper or lack of either of these constitutes plagiarism.
- Students found copying from other students will also be charged with collusion.

Module Learning Outcomes to be Assessed:-
1. To take notes in lectures and seminars, and from written texts, in an effective and efficient way.
2. To summarise verbally and on paper the main ideas and key facts in given academic texts, both oral and written.
3. To make appropriate use of primary and secondary sources, and to prepare a bibliography of these sources.
4. To plan and research a full-scale assignment with references and within deadlines set.
