Quasi or True experiment
The purpose of this activity is for you and your classmates to help each other understand an important distinction—the difference between true experiments and quasi-experiments. Remember that a true experiment is one in which the independent variable is manipulated (i.e., under the control of the experimenter). In contrast, a quasi-experiment makes use of pre-existing groups to establish a relationship between two variables. The general concept of this distinction is simple enough, but students tend to need practice recognizing the distinction in practice.
Here is what you will do:
For your DQ response, briefly describe a hypothetical experiment or quasi-experiment (but don’t label it as such). Your DQ response will be worth up to 16 points.
