Public Participation

 One of the benefits of the NEPA process is the incorporation of public participation. There are numerous ways in which the average citizen can participate in the process. Before you begin this discussion, read A Citizen’s Guide to the NEPA: Having your Voice Heard. Following this reading, discuss which two public participation steps you think are the most important in the NEPA process. Why do you feel these two steps are vital to the NEPA procedure? Additionally, discuss in detail what steps could be taken to improve the process of public participation.
