Psychology homework (due tonight)
Imagine that somehow we could "rewire" the visual system so that the optic nerve, via the thalamus, would deliver its action potentials to the taste cortex. What would a person with such "wiring" experience when they walked into a room and switched on the lights? What kinds of sensations would be produced by different wavelengths of light in this modified nervous system? Explain your answer in 5-10 well organized sentences.
