Write a 700- to 1,050-word paper in which you summarize the major assumptions and fundamental questions associated with psychological testing.  The paper will address the following concepts:

·       Define the term test.

·       Describe the major categories of tests and identify the major uses and users of these tests.

·       Compare and contrast the concepts of reliability and validity and discuss how they affect the field of psychological testing.

  • Describe the major categories of tests and identify the major uses and users of these tests. 
  • Compare and contrast the concepts of reliability and validity, and discuss how they impact the field of psychological testing.  

The content is comprehensive, accurate, and/or persuasive.

The paper develops a central theme or idea, directed toward the appropriate audience.

The paper links theory to relevant examples of current experience and industry practice and uses the vocabulary of the theory correctly.

Major points are stated clearly; are supported by specific details, examples, or analysis; and are organized logically:

  • Definition of "test" includes an overview of the five perspectives of psychological testing.
  • Identification and description of the four major categories of psychological tests.
  • Identification and description of the four major uses and users of psychological tests.
  • Definitions of reliability and validity as these concepts are used in psychological testing.
  • Correct distinction between reliability and validity.
  • Identification and description of the different types of reliability and validity.

The introduction provides sufficient background on the topic and previews major points.

The conclusion is logical, flows from the body of the paper, and reviews the major points.

Spelling is correct.
