In the Application Assignment this week, you engaged in prospect research and identified foundations you thought were appropriate or inappropriate funding sources for the nonprofit organization as suggested: Young Life. . In this Discussion, you have the opportunity to share with your classmates some of the foundations you found. You also reflect on challenges that you encountered or that may arise in prospect research and consider how to address them.

To prepare for this Discussion:

• Review your Application Assignment from this week. Select one foundation you identified as appropriate and one foundation you identified as inappropriate. Reflect on how you arrived at these decisions and consider any challenges you faced in identifying appropriate foundations. Think about how you addressed such challenges.

• Review Chapter 8 in the course text Fundraising Basics: A Complete Guide and the article “An Empirically Based Typology of Intercollegiate Athletic Donors: High and Low Motivation Scenarios,” and reflect on prospect research methods. Think about challenges that might arise in each method and how you might address each.

• Identify one challenge related to prospect research. This could be one that you experienced or one that you might potentially experience. Then consider how you might address the challenge.

With these thoughts in mind:

 DUE THURSDAY 9PM NEW YORK TIMEa brief description the NPO Young Life.  Be sure to include a brief description of the organization’s mission. Then describe one foundation you identified as an appropriate funding source and one foundation you identified as an inappropriate funding source for the organization, and explain why. Then describe at least one challenge you might encounter when engaging in prospect research and explain how you might address it. Be specific.
