He has been waiting to have the surgery for several months and is hoping that after he recovers he will have better mobility and less pain. About three weeks ago, he developed a severe stomach virus. He vomited for four days and was only able to take liquids for almost a week. He still is not eating very much and has very little appetite. He does not have much energy, but he thinks that it will not matter because he will not be very active after surgery anyway.
