Directions: Please complete the following tasks.  Be sure to read the directions carefully.

1.      Follow the directions below to create an Excel^® worksheet.

·         Open a new workbook and save it as Homework Plan.xlsx in the drive and folder where your Data Files are stored.

·         Create a worksheet based on the table given below, which indicates hours of study for each course throughout the week.

·         Enter formulas to calculate the Total Study Time for the last column.

·         Save your changes and preview your worksheet.

·         Save the file as part of the zipped folder to be uploaded to iBoard.

2.      Your company, Delicious Scoops, is a retailer of all-natural ice cream.  The following table lists sales for the best-selling flavors over a one-year period.  Open a new workbook and save it as Delicious Scoops.xlsx in the drive and folder where your Data Files are stored.  Plan and build a worksheet based on the table shown here.

·         Think about where you want the totals and averages for each flavor and each quarter.  Where do you want totals to appear?  Where do you want averages to appear?

·         Enter the data shown in the table in the workbook.

·         Calculate totals for sales of each flavor and each quarter.

·         Calculate averages for sales of each flavor and each quarter.

·         On a separate worksheet, calculate the impact of a 35% increase in sales for each flavor in each quarter.

·         Enter your name in a cell in each sheet, save your work, and then preview each worksheet.

3.      You manage a local toy store, Magical Beginnings.  Because you learned how to use Excel^®, you decide to use a workbook to calculate on-hand inventory values for products in the following table.  Open a new workbook and save it as Magical Beginnings.xlsx in the drive and folder where your Data Files are stored.  Plan and build a worksheet based on the table shown here.

·         Think about where you want the on-hand totals for all products to appear.  Where do you want the average price to appear?

·         Enter the data shown in the table in the workbook.

·         Calculate the retail price of each product, assuming a 2.3% markup of the wholesale price.

·         Calculate the average retail price of all the products.

·         Calculate the total value for each product (hint: use the retail price, not the wholesale price).

·         Enter you name in a cell, save your work, and then preview the worksheet.

·        

PART II: Essay

Directions:Write an essay that summarizes what you have learned in this section of your textbook and lecture notes.  Your paper should be at least 2 pages in length, utilize APA style, and include a cover page and a bibliography.

Your summary must include all of the following topics:
