For Project Three I want you to consider the impact some aspect of technology has had upon our culture in a meaningful way.  By this, I mean the technology's impact should be meaningful, and your treatment and discussion of its impact should be meaningful.  In other words, not three pages saying "now we all have cruise control."

Consider the book we looked at in class The Shallows, in which the author argues that the internet, by changing how we read, is changing how we think.  Those are some pretty big and pretty broad implications there.

Ideas include:

Google (maps, car, search engines)

autocorrect and its impact on writing/thinking

any technology that does things for us (driving, parking, cooking)

Electronic recreation (video games, movies and their impact on our culture)

social media (does it connect or isolate?)

etc.

In terms of rhetorical modes, this is a cause & effect paper, but I want you to go beyond simply explicating the effects of a given technology and really make an argument that analyzes the far-reaching effects to culture and the implications of the changes brought about by this shift.

7 - 10 pages, double spaced. Minimum 4 secondary sources.  Rough Draft due for peer editing  April 22, final copy due in Blackboard April 29.
