Task

This task requires you to find a client and develop and write a proposal for your project. This needs to demonstrate that your assignment is of sufficient magnitude to be a valuable learning experience for you, and that you have thought through the project sufficiently to be able to state clearly what you propose to achieve and how you will conduct your work.

You must not submit work that has been submitted for any other subject.

The proposal needs to be a very succinct statement of your intentions. You will need to choose your words carefully to communicate the essential information.

 

Rationale

This assessment item has been designed to assess your ability to:

   work with a client to analyse a real situation and formulate a plan for improving the situation
 

   develop and write a project proposal
 

   clearly define baseline situation
 

   determine project objectives in light of baseline, and explore strategy options
 

   define key target groups, plan and justify communication strategies
 

   develop and write a proposal using an appropriate format.

 

Marking criteria

These criteria will be used to evaluate Assessment item 1:

   relevance of the analysis used to describe the background and options for improvement-2
  

   clarity of statement of baseline situation and aim, and objectives-2
 

   clarity and professionalism of presentation including writing and layout-2
 

   logical progression of thought through the assignment-2
 

   justification of decisions about key targets and strategy-2.

Write in prose and use bullets to highlight key points. Follow these presentation guidelines:



 

Cover page includes

Project title
Student name, number and email address


Subject code and subject name


Name and contact details of person (client) in organisation who will be responsible and will verify your contribution


Executive summary (100 words max.)


Project description

Brief background and analysis


Clear objectives (including baseline situation if available) and evaluation plan


Key target groups and communication strategies

Budget* (Costs and who will pay)
