Project Charter

You are going to build your own home, and subcontract out that build.  You are going to start your own small business. What it is will be your choice. For either project, you have a budget of $300,000, and a time frame of 9 months to either complete the house, or open the business. In each unit, you will now be supplied a template with required information (as well as example inputs) for your project. Your assignment is to complete these weekly inputs. Your assignment this week is to describe your selected project and why you selected it. It is important to understand your thought process as we move forward. A brief description is adequate as additional details will be addressed in each successive section as you move forward. Next, using the supplied templates in Unit 4, develop a Project Charter and, a Project Management Plan for your selected project. Your final product will be a paper that is:  A description of your project;  1 - 2 double-spaced, APA formatted pages;  Includes at least five (5) references to this week’s materials; and  A Project Charter based on the linked template in Unit 4; and  A Project Management Plan based on the linked template in Unit 4. The requirements for your assignment are: 1. A description of the project you have selected. If it is a home, what kind and where. Why did you select this type? If it is a business start-up, what kind, and where? Why did you select this? 2. Complete a Project Charter in the template included, starting the overall process for your project. Complete the Charter in the template and load the Charter into this week’s assignment link. 3. Complete a Project Management Plan, in the template provided, and load the Plan into this week’s assignment link.
