This week, we delve deeper into the tools used in Project Management. True management is about decision-making, and good decision-making incorporates data. The tools we will discuss this week involves project data, some quantitative, some qualitative.

Depending upon the size of a given project, a project manager needs to have access to information that essentially spells out the who, what, where, when, why and how of the project. Tools such as the WBS, project schedule, etc. provide this. Project management software, such as MS Project, help pull it together in a comprehensive form. Even though Project Management is highly “people-oriented,” we will make our foray into the technical side.
